Yom HaZikaron is Israel's official remembrance day for fallen soldiers and civilian victims of terrorism. It is usually observed on the fourth day of the Hebrew month of Iyyar, the day preceding Yom HaAtzmaut. The day is marked by ceremonies, services, special prayers, and air raid sirens in Israel during which people silently reflect.
