Mekhilta d’Rabbi Shimon ben Yochai is a halakhic midrash on the Book of Exodus from the school of Rabbi Yishmael. There is no surviving full manuscript of the midrash; the version presented here is a reconstruction based on quotations of the midrash in Midrash HaGadol, as well as on three partial manuscripts. Mekhilta d’Rabbi Shimon ben Yochai is quoted significantly less frequently by later rabbinic texts than the Mekhilta d’Rabbi Yishmael.
